Swee Lee Celebrates 80 Years with Multi-City Music ShowcaseAcross South East Asia

SINGAPORE, 24 OCTOBER 2026 – Swee Lee (sweelee.com), South East Asia’s most trusted house of music and expression, is thrilled to announce SL80, a multi-city celebration of music and creative communities across the region, the centrepiece of its 80th anniversary year.
SL80 will bring together five distinct voices from across South East Asia, with each artist performing at a Swee Lee store in their home country before coming together for a full day of live music in Singapore. Headlining is Singapore’s Weish, the experimental art-pop artist who will reimagine unreleased songs first debuted in her show Stray Gods at the Singapore International Festival of Arts 2025. Joining her are Indonesia’s Danilla, known for her bossa nova and 1960s jazz-inflected indie-pop; Malaysia’s Lunadira, the alt-R&B artist who made history as the first Malaysian invited to perform on A COLORS SHOW, the Berlin-based music platform showcasing distinctive artists from around the world; Thailand’s Alec Orachi, bringing a high-energy blend of alternative hip-hop, funk and jazz; and Hanoi indie-folk act Pink Frog, who emerged from the city’s open-air busking community and will make their Singapore stage debut at SL80.
David Nam Le, Managing Director of Vista Musical Instruments, said: “Since 1946, Swee Lee has grown alongside the music community in South East Asia. SL80 is our way of celebrating everyone who has supported, discovered and connected with us over the years, while welcoming a new generation into that story. Across Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, we’re bringing artists and music fans together to celebrate the creative communities that make each city unique, before coming together in Singapore for our biggest celebration of Swee Lee’s 80th year.”

Celebrating 80 Years of Stories
SL80 is the centrepiece of 80 Years of Stories, which marks Swee Lee’s 80th anniversary year. It puts the spotlight on the people behind South East Asia’s music: the artists, musicians and fans who have been part of Swee Lee’s story, and whose stories are shaping the region’s music today.
Since August, Swee Lee has been releasing a film series spanning six countries across the region, featuring established names such as Ely Buendia in the Philippines, Pyra in Thailand and Hujan in Malaysia alongside emerging artists, working musicians and music lovers. Each film shares a personal story of music and the scenes and communities around it.
80 Years of Stories also brings more than 20 limited-edition and exclusive products from brands including Heritage Guitars, Fender Custom Shop and Taylor. Alongside these, Swee Lee’s monthly Wax Lyrical series is running special anniversary editions, in which Singapore artists talk through the stories behind their albums, beginning with Subsonic Eye.
The film series and everything else from 80 Years of Stories can be found at experience.sweelee.com/80-years.
